This is a femoral approach used during total hip revision to access loosened femoral components and remove cement prior to placement of a new prosthesis. Here's nice big chunk of context for you to get your teeth into!

"endo-femorale" is used everywhere after that.
But I am not at all happy with "endofemoral" in english - So far I have "transfemoral" - but am not 100% sure - is anyone out there familiar with these surgical approaches?
