French term

aiguillage

Homework / test French to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering Timepieces / Watch-making
Context: I believe the document is a servicing manual for luxury timepieces, although I've only been given a fragment to translate. Here is the exact sentence:
It seems to mean the hands on the watch dial, but maybe something more? Can someone help/confirm? Thank you!

hands, hand-fitting

Yes, it has to be the hands. There is some indication that the "system" of hands is called the "hand fitting" (nothing to do with fitting things by hand, or something that fits the hand, but a device - a fitting - comprising hands).
