French to English Bus/Financial Marketing / Market Research

EXE. Nous prenons en charge l'animation commerciale de la rubrique "actualités" de votre site.

Discussion

Carmen Schultz Nov 17, 2005:
Even if it's for a proposal to be read by the partners, it seems to me that it's ultimately is going to be used as a title/headline in the actual website so it still needs to be accessible to web surfer/reader.
HelenG Nov 17, 2005:
Carmen, I do not think that this is the term to be used on the web-site, it is the description of the service in the business proposal.
Carmen Schultz Nov 17, 2005:
It's obviously a sales component of the site to be managed and the other word needed whether it be "events," "activities," "promotions," etc. I think needs to be a word that's accessible to the reader(vs a word that's used among insiders.

As in the section of the website where sales activities/events are promoted and managed. I prefer "events" over "activities" because this is more in line with marketing strategies.

could also be SALES PROMOTIONS-
Note:It's obviously a sales component of the site to be
managed and the other word needed alongside "sales" whether it be "events," "activities," "promotions," etc., I think needs to be a word that's accessible to the reader(vs a word that's used among insiders)

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "This answer reflects the source language meaning, which is somewhat vague. Thanks."

sales presentation

Eurodicautom says commercial or sales promotion but I actually prefer presentation in this context. Basically, their job will be to manage the content of this particular area of the company's website.

sales/marketing activities

Maybe it's just a tic, but I always use "sales/marketing" for commercial. It's not just sales and it's not just marketing...
Peer comment(s):

agree Carmen Schultz : this is in line with what I think on the subject--and you're right about "commercial" in that it implies more than simply sales as it includes marketing, etc.

manage

"We would manage the "news" portion of the site"

I think they should be more specific so we understand what they mean(i.e. would they be responsible for providing content and updates?). Otherwise they are basically saying that they are "managing" that portion of the site, whatever that entails.
