French term

brevet prioritaire

French to English Law/Patents Law: Patents, Trademarks, Copyright
Looks easy, but...
Series of patent descriptions to translate, many of which are "brevets prioritaire". From what i gather, it's an early-stage patent (maybe the first-filed patent,) but there's a priority-family-other countries component to it that messes me up. The *brevet prioritaire* idea appears to follow the first application (in the timeline), so i guess 'priority' has been granted, but it's not a "utility model" as it's further on, and I imagine there's a sharper translation than "priority patent" which feels a bit like a cover-all...
Your ideas?...
