French term

jours jours

French to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
"L'actionnaire justifie de leur inscription sur un compte tenu par la société 5 jours jours au moins avant la réunion." At first I thought this was a typo, but it appears three times in the text in relation to different periods.

Has anyone ever seen this before? thanks

thanks thanks for all your help - I have asked the client but not yet had any reply

jours jours That's weird. I don't think it is "calendar day". That's usually translated as "jour civil" where I come from.
Charlie Bavington Dec 15, 2008:
Ask Seems likely some template-based typo, either as Tony says, or because the word "jours" was already there and the user typed "x jours" w/out noticing - easy done. Weird how a spell check didn't pick up a repeated word. I would certainly ask.
It could, after all, be some weird in-house thing to mean week days not weekends, or full days (not half days)... I dunno. Having it 3 times makes me uneasy.
Bernard Guerra Dec 14, 2008:
I agree - typo It is definitely a typo. The person entered "5 jours" without realizing that the word "jour" was already in the text.
Aude Sylvain Dec 14, 2008:
typo d'accord avec Tony
Tony M Dec 14, 2008:
Nope... No, I certainly haven't, Jane. I think it is a typo, or rather an editing error — probably was a blank template document, intended to be filled in as "5 jours (cinq jours)", only it was never done.

could be a single typo that was multiplied by some kind of automated feature in MS-Word??

Could this be Canadian French usage for "jours de calendrier"
5 jours jours (de calendrier)?

Peer comment(s):

disagree Jean-Claude Gouin : No, it's not Canadian French! Also it's not a typo! It's a multitude of typos; see what Tony says ...
