Typo perhaps ?

Could this be a typo ? The term "caisse" seems more fitting. Good luck.

it's not a typo - "à la casse" means to sell sth in "parts" because you cannot sell it anymore.....

for it's first usage (for example a tv set is sold "à la casse" to get the electronic parts) or a bed for the wood.....

Here it means that even sold "à la casse" (at the cheapest price) all the assets of the company amount to a capitalisation of 30 € per share

Sorry I'm sure about the meaning, I'm not sure to explain it properly ;-)))
Peer comment(s):

agree Bourth (X) : Yeah, there's a name for those people who buy a failing company, sell off the profitable parts, and abandon the rest ... but like you can't think of the name ...Of course all I had to do was quit ProZ and it came to me in a flash!

asset stripping

There has to be a verb for it (stripped, asset stripped, stripped of its assets, ...?), but I'll leave you to search for it!

Asset Stripper - A corporate raider who acquires a target company with the intention of selling off some of the target's assets to repay outstanding debt, under the belief that the assets which remain after the "stripping" will be worth significantly more than the purchase price.

Asset Stripper
An individual who determines if the value of a company is worth more purchased as a whole or divided into separate assets which are sold off. This is usually done in order to fulfill debt agreements.

In essence, this is a corporate bargain finder who discovers discounts amongst financially troubled companies preparing to liquidate their assets. The job description is almost as exciting as the name.
