français term

en médecine

français vers anglais Médecine Assurances Insurance contract - coverage for various medical expenses
"Les frais sont ceux correspondant aux :
Frais de séjour (au moins 24 heures ***en médecine***), forfait journalier, anesthesie..."

In a ward??? I'm baffled!

in-patient

This seems like it would fit (without specifying exactly what is going on while under medical care)

hospitalisation (but see explanation)

The problem of a neat translation is that 'médecine' is not for just any reason but one included in 'médecine' (see first link) so doesn't apply say to surgery or orthopaedics.

The second link on p16 makes the distinction between being hospitalised for under/over 24 hours.
