French term

leur pendant domestique

French to English Science Fisheries article about sharks
This puzzles me - does it mean 'streak'?

Phil I DID look but missed the noun! I was toying with 'endearing'

Wendy is right, and should put it as an answer. It's easy enough to find in the dictionary:

If humor is acceptable, you could put "cuddly" for "rassurant".
ormiston (asker) Feb 21, 2014:
but now I see another take on it. Hm!
ormiston (asker) Feb 21, 2014:
of course and thank you
Wendy Streitparth Feb 21, 2014:
They don't have a "reassuring domestic counterpart".
