French term

"Si vous croissiez de publier......."

French to English Other Computers (general) Web site content
This phrase occurs in a text for a web site as yet not on-line. It relates to recipes for cooking using a specific electrical appliance. The full context is that if you invent/write out a recipe of your own you may wish to share it with other site users as part of a community activity.

I'm proofreading the translation and "publier" occurs several times always in the same context and is variously translated as 'publish', 'post', share. My question is twofold..........

1. Is the use of "croissiez" a horrendous typo or scan error for "choissisez"? I can't believe "croître" would really be used.

2. For the sake of consistency, which of 'publish', 'post' or 'share' would most likely be used on a web site for this kind of thing especially in US EN.

Discussion

Tony M Apr 20, 2012:
Agree with Martin It looks to me like it was originally meant to be 'choisissez', and a typo meant the spell-checker 'corrected' it to croissiez — which would easily happen with certain combinations of letters.
Martin Cassell Apr 19, 2012:
maybe not a typo/scanno as such, but the work of an over-zealous and under-monitored spelling corrector?

typo / Post

I reckon this is a typo for choissisez...

I would use "post" to describe information shared amongst site users. "post" is widely used, is more specific than "shared" and does not risk the ambiguity of "publish", which is a term used to describe the process within authoring software for the websites themselves.
Example sentence:

"How to Post a Recipe/Make a Comment"
