"univers sensibles"
French to English

Performance Art
This is a playbill with very short descriptions of artistic performances. So I have no extra information.
Very poetic, so I'm not sure I understood all the nuances.
sensible- can be translated many ways, but I have a feeling this is a play on words that may be untranslatable.
Sensible:sensitive, keen, sore, appreciable, noticable,perceptible
(un monde sensible:physical or tangible) but I think it's more than that.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Comment: "Thank you all. I chose a variation of this answer, though all of you were right, this one had the note of poetry I was looking for.
Vaugn had a good explanation for this problem, so I will quote what he said for future translators who run into the same problem. Thanks again!
Vaugn said: "I run into these terms constantly. It's not really a play on words, it's just that the French is 100% ambigous about 2 ideas. If you ask the author what they mean, pointing out the 2 concepts, 70% of the time they'll say "both". So I translate both. The phrasing is still a problem - this is one suggestion, but with many others synonyms." "

on second thought \"sensibility\" doesn\'t fit here at all, rather \"senses/sensual\"

Beth Varley
: despite my choice of "sensory", I tend to agree with you that the French is ambiguous about both ideas

Objects of every day life are subverted by the artist so that we perceive them in different and surprising ways, our senses are stimulated in a different way. The objects become sensory universes for us??

Sense Worlds
in French, funnily enough, univers is often world.
L'univers du livre....the world of books..but since the performance deal with the meanings in the encounters between performance and objects, I propose: Sense Worlds.....that way you get the senses and the worlds of meaning.
:)

Discussion
Originally I wanted to put something like 'universes of the senses', but it doesn't sound natural. Also, I get the feeling it has the "perceptible" connotation as well.
