In CADD, individual drawings are "layered", each being superimposable over others to form the final drawing.
On different drawings you could have:
- foundations
- walls
- drains
- cold water pipes
- hot water pipes
- wiring for lights
- wiring for power outlets
- wiring for HVAC
etc.
and "stack them up" to see how they all fit together.
There is some (not a lot) Ouèbbhe evidence of this being called a "pile (or empilement) de calques".
However I feel there must be another more common term, and besides, I don't see how it fits into your context of common parts drawings.
I feel "stack" here simply has to be a deformation of the above use, to mean "file, set" etc. here.
