French term

droits à imputation

French to English Bus/Financial Accounting tax consolidation
This is taken from the accounting principles section of a company's annual accounts.

If anyone is able to provide an explanation of this concept, in addition to just a translation, then I would be most grateful.

Many thanks.

tax deduction rights

"imputation" here means allocation of expenses etc. to this company and to a specific Financial Year. If the company were independent, it would have, in a specific FY, tax-deductible expenses amounting to X, special deductions for research and development = Y, deduction for employing disabled people = Z, etc.

agree Buzzy : with the answer but not quite with the explanation: this is about a "tax consolidation" and the "droits à l'imputation" refer not to allocation to a year but to the actual tax deduction rights: EME can deduct as much as it would have if not in a tax group
