account[ing] code/description
cost? most companies also account for revenues...last time I checked.
I think were talking about accounting description, accounting code which would essentially identify the nature of the revenue, cost, or other item.

accounting nature, nature for accounting purposes
Don't laugh. The English terms used by the IASB to distinguish between accounting by nature and accounting by function are entirely cognate with the French terms. There is no need to avoid "nature".
