Arabic term

يبهّر الكلام

Arabic to English Other Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
Hi all,
I'm wondering if you can help me to translate this idiomatically into US English. It appears in a few isolated sentences in a project I am working on:
- كان معسول اللسان ويبهر الكلام الذي يقوله.
- قد يلجأ المرء إلى حيلة أن يبهر كلامه من أجل تحقيق مصلحةٍ ما
- نعيش بمجتمع يعشق التهويل والقصص، فلا يستطيعون العيش دون تبهير الكلام
- قد أصبحت ظاهرة تبهير الكلام شائعة ليس فقط في إطارٍ معين؛ بل في المجتمع العربي أجمع.

Many thanks!

political correctness / politically correct / sugarcoating

It has a negative meaning. I have been thinking of other alternatives such as: articulate (speaker or speech) or eloquent but they have positive meaning. The context which you have provided is clearly negative.

agreeing with the idea that people should be careful to not use language or behave in a way that could offend a particular group of people.

You can also 'spice up' things like speeches, performances and events: by adding parts which make them more interesting and exciting
