French term

sur support papier ou dérivé

French to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s)
Online service agreement relating to a Web application.

"Le droit de reproduire ou de faire reproduire les Documents Digitalisés, sans limitation de nombre, en tout ou en partie, par tous moyens et procédés, sur tous supports et tous matériaux tant actuels que futurs, connus ou inconnus, et notamment sur support papier ou dérivé, plastique, numérique, magnétique, électronique ou informatique, par téléchargement, vidéogramme, CD-Rom, DVD, disque, disquette, réseau ;"

papier ou dérivé get a respectable number of hits if you google it, but "paper or derivative" doesn't.

on paper (medium) or (paper) by-product

“Medium” is common translation of “support “
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : A by-product is something left over after the manufacturing process, which is not what they're referring to here..

on hard-copy paper or allied medium

In descending order of confidence level again: 4-3-2.

Query: whether parchment is a derivative of paper or vice versa.

Example sentence:

Graph and download economic data for Producer Price Index by Commodity for Pulp, Paper, and Allied Products-

Peer comment(s):

neutral AllegroTrans : I see no need to add "hard-copy" since it's not in the ST or to change derivatives/derived from. If you reproduce something onto paper, surely it's hard-copy unless it's in invisible ink?

on paper or a medium derived therefrom

As I read it, this is not meant to cover mediums made from paper, but mediums that a paper document might be converted into. That needs to be made clear, as otherwise it would just cover recycled-paper products, which would be irrelevant to the context.

However, it's best to avoid the term "converted" because that has another, technical, usage: https://www.brdisolutions.com/what-is-the-paper-converting-i...
Peer comment(s):

neutral AllegroTrans : Isn't this basically the same answer as Phil's?

No. The other mediums wouldn't be derived from paper, but mediums to which a paper document had been transferred, e.g. a pdf, jpg, microfiche ....
