Michael, there are different types of رقة القلب. A type that deals with the خشوع which involves the relation between Allah and his slave (your first example will fit here). Another type which deals with frailty/ lack of courage (your second example will fit here) . Then there is a type that deals with emotions or relations between humans (your third example will fit here).
However, all types denote sensitivity, deviation from cruelty, tenderness and depending on the context will denote fright (being scared). HTH

In this thread, somebody tries to describe how to „soften“ a heart that is cold and closed – may be it helps, that you can imagine what means:

I think "soften the heart" and "heart-softening" and "those with soft hearts" would work just fine for all examples cited. Which example ya Saleh do you think cannot accommodate the term?

The two first examples have similar connotations while the last example has different meaning and connotations.
The first answer paid attention to the last example while the second answer paid attention to the others.
