Italian term or phrase: imputazione psichica
Hi all -

I am translating a an appeal hearing against extradition to the US sought for a putative drug trafficker.

In describing the mindset of the person involved she uses the phrase "imputazione psichica." I am looking for the best way to render this term in English.

The context:
Sul punto, non appaiono condivisibili i rilievi della Corte territoriale where they refer to

Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

the mens rea part
Explanation:
i.e. the intentional knowledge of wrongdoing, i.e the "subjective" part of a crime -the mental state of the accused, in this case supporting criminal association. In common law jurisdictions for a crime to exist, both mens rea and actus reus must be proven, except in the case of strict liability crimes where actus reus (actual criminal act) is sufficient.
