Medical - Medical: Cardiology / angiogram report
German term or phrase: fußversorgend
In the findings of an angiogram in a report written to the GP, the ADP (Arteria dorsalis pedis/penis) is described as "offen und fußversorgend".

Literally "open and supplying the foot"?

(effectively) supplying the foot
Explanation:
There are several connections between the arteries of the foot, such that whenever flow is impaired through one of the arteries, the other ones may readily take over the supply of this artery's territory. Watching the path of the injected dye during angiography, the examiner can see whether or not the artery of interest receives support from other arteries. This is a more sensitive method of detecting flow restrictions than just looking for "bottle necks" in the contour of the artery.

Depending on your context, "die Arterie ist fußversorgend" may either mean that the artery fully does its job of supplying the [largest part of the] foot, or that the artery supports other branches through the arterial network, thus supplying more or less the whole foot.

Many thanks for this. Yours was the only answer as such, so it gets the points, although I actually preferred "providing a good blood supply to the foot".
